The Collective makes grants available to nonprofits in the Triangle on an annual basis. Our focus areas change each year as we rotate between four themes: arts, education, health, and poverty. The Grants Committee manages the process of defining grant topics and evaluating applications. The amount of funding that we offer varies each year based on a number of factors, including membership numbers. Once the grant is awarded, the Stewardship Committee takes over the responsibility of managing the Collective’s relationships with grantees.
The Grants Committee organizes several educational events each year to educate members about the current year’s grant topic and the next year’s grant theme. This education helps us develop specific grant topics that are relevant to local communities. Collective members are afforded a number of opportunities throughout the process to vote and provide feedback, shaping the direction of the grant and choosing grantees.
